APPOINTMENTS - all consultations are by appointment.
We have always operated a prebookable appointment system whereby patients can make an appointment for up to (and often more than) 4 weeks in advance. We also offer same day appointments.
Pre-bookable appointments enable you to pre-book an appointment, for a day in the future, to see one of our doctors when he or she is in surgery. By the nature of this type of booking system, there may be a waiting period to see the doctor of your choice particularly at busy times of year. Therefore it is best to book your appointment as soon as you can in order to secure your preferred day and time.
Same day appointments enable you to book an appointment to see a doctor on that same day. The surgery opens its doors and phone lines at 8.30am and same day appointments are given out over the phone and at the reception desk on a first come, first served basis. We strongly encourage all patients to contact the surgery at this time if they would like to book a same day appointment. By the nature of these appointments, the telephone lines can be busy at 8.30am and a telephone queuing system is in operation.
Surgery hours are 8.30 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday - Please be sure to let us know if you cannot keep your appointment.

We provide the following special services:-
BLOOD TEST APPTS - appointments available in the AM, either with Practice Nurse or visiting Phlebotomist.
Fasting Blood Tests - Guidelines -:
When you attend the Surgery for this blood test, please ensure that you have been without food or drink (except water, black coffee or black tea without sugar) for 14 hours.
If you are taking medication, please take this as usual.
If you have NOT had a urine test within the last 12 months, please supply a specimen on the day of your blood test. A specimen container can be collected from Reception.
For blood test results please contact the surgery one week later, after 2 pm.
BABY CLINIC - for baby's vaccinations, appointments can be made from 9.30am every Wednesday Morning. Please telephone reception to book in your baby/child for their vaccinations or boosters.
MATERNITY CLINICS -
Post natal examination of mother and baby is carried out by your GP six weeks after delivery.
SMOKING CESSATION -
This Practice supports patients who wish to stop smoking, please ask at Reception for further details and the contact number of the Community Smoking Cessation Clinics.
FAMILY PLANNING -
Please book an appointment with a member of our Nursing Team, who can offer advice on all aspects of contraception, including emergency contraception and coil fitting. Dr Brown is our specialist Doctor for fitting of coils.
If you require emergency contraception, please make the sure the Receptionist understands that it is urgent, alternatively you can obtain this at Avenue House walk-in Clinic.
DIABETIC CLINIC
For advice and review - usually on a Friday afternoon, but other slots available upon request.
PREVENTION OF HEART DISEASE & HYPERTENSION CLINIC
Including identification of risk factors in heart disease and cholesterol measurement if appropriate.
ASTHMA CLINIC
Including check of correct use of Inhaler and peak flow measurement
EAR SYRINGING CLINIC - These appointments can be booked with the Practice Nurses, 20 min appts. Please note you must see the Doctor first so that he can examine your ears. The syringing appointment can then be made 10 days later allowing you enough time to use Olive Oil in the ears for softening of wax, prior to the syringing appointment. Please note appointments are available AM and PM on Tuesdays and Fridays.
